Wykład 15 godzinny w języku angielskim.

1. Description of the design and operation of the sensors and actuators, components of microelectronics, signal processing, etc.
2. Description of the methods of sensors location, their implementation in structures with isotropic and anisotropic characteristics, modelling of structures, methods of recording and visualization of results.
3. Description of the most important physical phenomena having a significant impact on the study of structural elements: the nature of propagation of elastic waves, wave reflection and conversion of modes, the problem of changing the speed of the waves, the phenomenon of dispersion, the effect of the initial stresses, changes in the stiffness of the material and the effects of this phenomenon, and so on.
4. Description of the methods aimed to develop and implement systems which detect mechanical faults in structures manufactures of materials with isotropic and anisotropic characteristics: fatigue cracks, voids, delaminatons, debonding, etc.
5. Description of the methods aimed to develop and implement systems to detect other defects in structures manufactured of materials with anisotropic properties (composites): thermal damage, contamination by different types of liquids, chemical contamination, degradation (aging), etc.
6. Applications of the above mentioned techniques in the aerospace, automotive, mechanical engineering, offshore engineering and civil engineering.
